You, as an MKLM donor, have sent these members of MKLM’s Class of 2009 to Bolivia, Cambodia, El Salvador and Kenya. There, they will make sustainable improvements for our brothers and sisters who are most in need. Thank you.

You might be surprised to know some interesting facts about these missioners.  Some are just a few years out of college; others are recently retired from long, successful careers.  Among them are teachers, youth ministers, a cosmetologist, a radio program producer, and a chemical engineer. What a diverse group!  

Yet they have in common one characteristic… a characteristic also shared by YOU! You, like our missioners, have big dreams…dreams to embrace the whole world.   

Returned MKLM missioners joined staff and 2009 class members at the SOA Watch held in Georgia in November. Class members were appreciative that their orientation program featured an outside event focused on justice and peace.

• Provide education, housing, and meals for thousands of AIDS orphans
• Train women and children on the effects of domestic and community violence
• Give mothers access to nutrition programs for their children
• Build sustainable infrastructure including potable water and food production systems

You will be there… Bolivia. Cambodia. El Salvador. Kenya…Your gifts have allowed these missioners to share their skills with those who need them most.When our newest Maryknoll Lay Missioners received their mission crosses, we rejoiced. We prayed. We celebrated.  We gave thanks to God for their big dreams.  

We also gave thanks for your big dreams.  Your dreams, too, are big enough to embrace the whole world.  Through your generous support, you join our missioners as a symbol of God’s dream for all of us.
